This page explains what personal data is processed in connection with your use of hau-miau.pl (the "Website"), for what purposes, and what rights you have as a result.

Data controller

The controller of personal data collected through the Website is PRYWATNA PRAKTYKA WETERYNARYJNA M. Katarzyna Trojanowska (Private Veterinary Practice M. Katarzyna Trojanowska), ul. Siemieńskiego 23, 02-106 Warszawa, Poland, tax ID (NIP): 526 169 20 57 (the "Clinic").

For any matter concerning personal data you can write to us at kontakt@hau-miau.pl or by post to the Clinic's address.

We process data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (the General Data Protection Regulation — the "GDPR").

What data we collect and why

The Website is informational. It has no user accounts, registration, comment sections, newsletter, or online sales — so we do not collect any data such features would require. We process only the data described below.

Contact form

When you send a message through the form on the "Contact" page, you provide us with your name, email address, and the content of your message, and optionally your phone number and your pet's name. Providing this data is voluntary, but without your name, email address, and message we will not be able to reply. Submitting the form also requires ticking a consent box for processing the data in order to handle your inquiry.

The form message reaches us as an email in the Clinic's inbox — the Website does not store it in any database of its own. For the technical delivery of the message we use the Resend service (see "Recipients of data" below).

We process the form data solely to handle your inquiry — to reply and, if you ask for one, to arrange an appointment. Depending on the nature of your message, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to potentially using our services) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in corresponding with people who contact us). The same rules apply accordingly to messages sent directly to our email address.

To protect the form against abuse, the server briefly processes the sender's IP address (limiting the number of submissions in a short period). The IP address is not attached to the content of your message and is not permanently stored by the Website.

Server logs

Like almost every website, the Website runs on hosting infrastructure that may automatically record standard technical logs: the IP address, the date and time of the request, the address of the page visited, and the browser identifier. The logs serve the security and proper operation of the Website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and are not used by us to identify visitors.

Cookies and browser storage

The Website uses one first-party cookie and the browser's localStorage — solely for functional purposes (remembering your language version, display theme, and the decision made in the cookie banner). We do not use analytics or marketing tools. You will find the full inventory with descriptions in the Cookie Policy.

Recipients of data

Only entities that support the operation of the Website may have access to the data:

  • Resend — an email delivery service through which the contact-form message is delivered to the Clinic's inbox; Resend processes the form data on our behalf,
  • the hosting provider — maintains the servers the Website runs on (technical logs),
  • Google — the provider of content embedded in the Website (the directions map, videos in articles); with respect to that content Google acts as an independent controller (see "Embedded content" below).

We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for marketing purposes. We may disclose it only to entities authorised to receive it under the law.

Some of the above providers (Resend in particular) may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area. In that case the transfer takes place with the safeguards provided for in Chapter V of the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep the data

We keep contact-form correspondence for as long as it takes to handle the matter and, once it is closed, for the period during which claims connected with the correspondence or the services provided could arise under the law. Technical logs are kept for the limited period applied by the hosting provider.

Your rights

In connection with the processing of your personal data you have the right to:

  • access your data and receive a copy of it,
  • have your data rectified (corrected),
  • have your data erased,
  • restrict processing,
  • object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR,
  • data portability.

If you believe the processing of your data violates the law, you can lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland, uodo.gov.pl). To exercise your other rights, write to us at kontakt@hau-miau.pl.

Automated decision-making and profiling

We do not make decisions concerning you based solely on the automated processing of data, including profiling.

Embedded content

Some pages of the Website embed content from external providers. It loads only when it enters the visible area of your browser window — merely opening a page without such content does not connect your browser to third-party servers.

  • Google Maps — the "Contact" page and the Website footer contain an embedded directions map. When it loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, and Google may set its own cookies within the embedded map and collect data in accordance with its policy.
  • YouTube videos — selected blog articles contain videos embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (the youtube-nocookie.com domain). According to Google, in this mode YouTube does not store cookies before you start playing the video.

Embedded content is governed by its provider's rules — see the Google Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

If the scope of data processing on the Website changes (for example, if we add new features), we will update this document. The current version is always available at this address.
