ABOUT THE COMPANY

Reico & Partner Vertriebs GmbH is a family company from the Allgäu region in Germany that specialises in direct sales: natural, high-quality animal food and dietary supplements for people and animals.

Founded in 1992 by an animal naturopathy specialist, Konrad Reiber, the company draws on over 50 years of experience in distributing animal food and over 50 years of experience in creating dietary supplements. Today, together with his daughters Manuela Kunz and Petra Reiber, he is preparing the next generation to take over responsibility for the company.

The goal of Reico & Partner Vertriebs GmbH is to ensure an optimal mineral balance for soil, plants, animals, and people with the help of high-quality Reico products, and thus to create the best possible living conditions.

An exceptional offer

Reico is a unique blend of algae that brings the body into mineral balance.

Another advantage is the unique production process used by the company, in which high-quality herbs are gently micronised, so that all the ingredients are fully preserved.

The product range

It is tailored to the needs of soil, plants, animals, and people. Through our products, we want to actively contribute to restoring and permanently improving the balance in the natural cycle. For example: we offer a wide selection of rich, valuable, and species-appropriate foods for animals.

What your dog or cat finds in the bowl every day has a bigger impact on its health than you might expect — coat condition, energy levels, digestion, joint health, and even a pet's general wellbeing all depend heavily on the quality and consistency of its diet. At Hau-Miau — Private Veterinary Practice at ul. Siemieńskiego 23 in Warsaw's Ochota district — we support dog and cat owners not only with treatment, but also with everyday feeding decisions, well before any health problem appears. There is no single food that suits every animal: good nutrition is always a balance between a species' needs, age, health status, and the individual pet's preferences. That's why our clinic recommends natural food and supplements from the German brand REICO, along with aloe-based AloeVet care products, and why we discuss the choice of a specific line and feeding method individually rather than suggesting the same solution to every client. This guide covers how natural nutrition differs from food sold in most shops, when supplementation or aloe-based care is worth considering, and how ordering and consultations work at our clinic — treat it as a starting point for a conversation, because the best feeding decisions are always made together with a vet who knows your pet's health history.

Natural REICO food — for dogs and cats, including sensitive stomachs

Reico & Partner Vertriebs GmbH is a family company from the Allgäu region in Germany, founded in 1992 by animal naturopathy specialist Konrad Reiber. Today the brand is run by his daughters, Manuela Kunz and Petra Reiber, who continue the philosophy that has guided it from the start: pursuing a natural mineral balance in soil, plants, animals, and people. REICO operates on a direct-sales model, and its products are made using a gentle micronising process that preserves as much of the natural properties of the herbs and functional ingredients as possible.

In everyday clinical use, the term "natural" or "high-meat" food mainly describes a recipe based largely on meat and animal-derived ingredients, with a limited share of cereal fillers, no artificial colourings, and as short an ingredient list as possible. Food like this is meant to echo the diet dogs and cats are evolutionarily adapted to. That doesn't automatically mean every natural food will suit every animal, though — choosing the right recipe is still an individual matter, best worked out together with our team.

REICO offers both dry and wet food, prepared separately for dogs and for cats. Dry food is convenient for everyday feeding and stays fresh longer once opened. Wet food, in turn, has a higher moisture content, which can matter especially for cats — they naturally drink little water and should get a meaningful share of it from their food. For dogs, the choice of food format depends mainly on size, age, and activity level; for cats, we also factor in hydration and a predisposition to urinary tract conditions.

For animals prone to a sensitive stomach, there are recipes built around a limited number of carefully selected ingredients with high digestibility. In some patients, these may support gentler digestion, though it's always worth discussing with our team first — the causes of digestive trouble vary, and not every "gentle" food will suit every case.

Tip: whatever the brand, it's worth introducing a new food gradually, ideally over 7–10 days, mixing a growing share of the new product with the previous one. It's the simplest way to reduce the risk of an upset stomach.

AloeVet supplements & care

Dietary supplements — whether from the REICO range or others recommended by our team — can be a valuable addition to everyday feeding, but they don't replace a balanced diet or veterinary treatment. We treat them as extra support in specific situations: for older pets, for dogs with high physical activity, during shedding seasons, during recovery after an illness or procedure (always in agreement with the treating vet), and when an owner notices a decline in coat condition or overall vitality. It's best to decide on a specific supplement, its dose, and how long to use it together with our team — especially if the animal is already on medication or has a chronic condition, since some ingredients may interact with treatment or be unsuitable for certain conditions.

A separate group of products we recommend is the AloeVet range of grooming and care items based on aloe — an ingredient long used in animal skin and coat care for its gentle, soothing qualities. AloeVet products are most often used for:

  • Everyday coat and skin care — especially for animals with dry or sensitive skin.
  • Paw and pad care — for example after walks in tough conditions: heat, pavement salt, or snow.
  • Supporting the after-bath routine — as part of everyday hygiene.
  • General care for animals prone to dry skin — during the heating season or in air-conditioned rooms.

We want to be clear about one thing: AloeVet care products support an animal's everyday hygiene and comfort, but they are not medicinal products and don't replace a veterinary consultation for skin changes, wounds, inflammation, or persistent itching.

Note: a visible decline in skin or coat condition, excessive shedding, or persistent scratching is a sign to consult a veterinarian first, and only then choose the right care routine or supplement.

Choosing the right diet for your pet

Choosing the right diet is much more than picking a food brand — it's a process that should weigh several independent factors at once:

  • Life stage — puppies and kittens, adult animals, and senior patients have different energy needs and different nutrient ratios; food suited to a growing puppy is usually not optimal for a senior dog, and vice versa.
  • Activity level — a working, running, or regularly and intensively trained dog needs a different energy supply than a pet with a calm, sofa-bound lifestyle; the same applies to outdoor cats versus strictly indoor cats.
  • Body weight and condition — both overweight and underweight animals need adjustments to their feeding, usually under the supervision of regular check-ups.
  • Allergies and food intolerances — some animals react adversely to specific proteins or ingredients; identifying this usually requires a supervised elimination diet rather than switching foods on your own by trial and error.
  • Coexisting conditions — kidney, liver, heart, or digestive disease, as well as metabolic disorders, can significantly change feeding recommendations.

Even though natural REICO food is a good starting point for many healthy dogs and cats, the final choice of a specific line, format (dry or wet), and portion size is best made individually. That's what our nutrition consultation is for — a visit where we review the animal's feeding history, condition, and lifestyle, then propose a specific feeding plan complete with portion sizes and a feeding schedule. This is especially worth considering for animals with chronic conditions, after procedures, during weight loss or weight-gain programmes, and whenever a food that used to work suddenly stops agreeing with the pet for no clear reason.

Not every pet needs a full nutrition consultation — for many healthy adult animals, a short conversation during a routine check-up is enough. But if you have doubts, we'd rather you asked than guessed on your own.

How to order food or book a consultation

REICO food and supplements, as well as AloeVet care products, are ordered directly through our clinic — we don't run an online shop independent of the practice, so the simplest and safest way to order is to get in touch with us:

  1. Call +48 22 823 35 63. Tell us which animal the order is for — species, age, any health issues — and which food, supplement, or care product you need.
  2. Get a recommendation from our team. Before we suggest a specific product, we check the patient's health history in our records and ask about anything relevant; if needed, we'll suggest a full nutrition consultation rather than just an order based on guesswork.
  3. Collect your order at the clinic. Orders are most often collected in person at ul. Siemieńskiego 23, 02-106 Warszawa (Ochota) — during your visit, you can ask about dosing and how to feed it right away.

For regular patients of the clinic, a phone call is usually enough; for more complex cases — chronic conditions, clear digestive issues, allergies — we recommend booking an in-person visit. You'll also find our full range of recommended brands on the Products page.

You don't need to know in advance which line or flavour will work best — just describe your animal's situation to us. Choosing the specific product is our job.

Frequently asked questions

How do I switch my pet's food safely?

It's best to spread the switch over 7–10 days, or even two weeks for animals prone to a sensitive stomach. For the first few days, the new food should make up a small addition to the current one, with its share growing gradually until it fully replaces the previous product. During this time, keep an eye on appetite, stool consistency, and your pet's general wellbeing. If vomiting, persistent diarrhoea, or a clear reluctance to eat appears, pause the switch and get in touch with us — sometimes it's better to slow down or choose a different recipe than to push through the change regardless.

Is natural food more expensive than food from regular shops?

Natural, high-meat foods tend to cost more per kilogram than mass-market products off the shelf — this comes down to a higher share of meat, ingredient quality, and the production method, among other things. It's worth looking not just at the price of the bag, though, but also at the recommended daily portion: food with high nutritional value is often fed in smaller amounts than a lower-quality product, which partly offsets the price difference. The exact cost of feeding depends on the animal's weight, the product line chosen, and its individual calorie needs — it's best to simply ask us, and we'll gladly help you estimate how a particular choice fits your household budget.

How do I order REICO food or supplements, or AloeVet products?

We take orders by phone at +48 22 823 35 63, or during a visit to the clinic. Just let us know your pet's species and age and, if possible, its current food and any health issues. We'll recommend a suitable product line based on that. Orders are collected in person at the clinic at ul. Siemieńskiego 23 in Warsaw (Ochota), which also gives you a chance for a quick conversation about dosing and how to feed it.

Does food for dogs and cats differ significantly?

Yes. Cats are obligate carnivores with different protein requirements and specific needs — for certain amino acids and vitamins, for instance — compared with omnivorous dogs. Cats typically drink less water than they should, so wet food can be especially helpful in keeping them properly hydrated. Dogs differ mainly by size and breed — small and large breeds grow at different rates and have different risks of joint disease and different calorie needs. That's why REICO offers separate product lines for dogs and for cats, and the choice should always take the species into account, not just the portion size.

What if I suspect my pet has a food allergy?

Symptoms such as persistent itching, recurring ear infections, skin changes, or chronic digestive trouble may, though don't always, point to a food allergy or intolerance. Switching food on your own "to see what happens" rarely gives a clear answer, since similar symptoms can have other causes too. Diagnosing a food allergy usually requires a supervised, controlled elimination diet carried out over a set period with close observation of symptoms. If you suspect an allergy in your pet, book a visit rather than trying one food after another on your own — it gets us to the cause of the problem faster and lets us choose a diet that actually helps.

How do I book a nutrition consultation?

You can book a nutrition consultation by phone at +48 22 823 35 63. The first visit usually takes around 45–60 minutes and includes a detailed feeding history, an assessment of the animal's condition, and, if needed, a recommendation for further tests. Before the visit, it's worth noting down the current diet, any treats given, and any observations about your pet's appetite and digestion — it shortens the interview considerably and lets us get to specific recommendations faster.

Choosing the right food, supplement, or care product doesn't have to be difficult — just tell us about your animal, and together we'll find a solution suited to its age, condition, and health. Whether you're looking for natural REICO food for a healthy, active dog, nutritional support for a senior pet, or AloeVet care for a cat's sensitive skin — let's simply start with a conversation. Ask about our products — call +48 22 823 35 63. Our clinic is waiting for you and your pet at ul. Siemieńskiego 23, 02-106 Warszawa (Ochota).
